INFO Debriefing
Team conversations after clinical events.
We believe that debriefing clinical cases is an integral part of improving patient care and promotes the growth of reflective and supportive inter-professional medical teams.
There is no standard or “one size fits all” way to do this. The best way to have a conversation after a clinical event is the way that works consistently and safely in your clinical environment. At INFO Debriefing we believe that having trained facilitators is an important part of the clinical event debriefing process.

Set up debriefing for your clinical events.
We can help you to establish a clinical event debriefing process in your clinical environment.
Clinical event debriefing is recommended by the American Heart Association as a way to improve resuscitation performance but if you are like us, then you regularly miss opportunities to debrief clinical events and learn from them. Using INFO (Immediate / Not for personal assessment / Fast / Opportunity to ask questions) to promote conversations after high stress events has allowed us to debrief and learn from real events in the emergency department more regularly.
With an average time of 10 minutes, staff are able to connect and share important information to improve patient care and support themselves without slowing the flow of patients through the department. We offer courses to train your staff to facilitate debriefings in your clinical area.
Our team is passionate about clinical event debriefing.
Since implementing INFO in the emergency department of the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2016, we have been integrating and revising our users’ feedback to improve the INFO clinical event debriefing process. We offer a variety of training and user engagement options on this site.
Led by a team of dedicated frontline clinicians.
Using lessons learned to improve patient care.
Gathering feedback to continuously improve our process.
Our Training Options:
The INFO BASICS Workshop
The BASICS workshop provides front line novice facilitators with training to build their confidence in order to successfully facilitate debriefings. This is an important part of establishing a culture of clinical event debriefing in your unit.
The INFO Train the Trainer Workshop
The INFO Train the Trainer or T3 workshop, is aimed at creating a core group of passionate faculty that will be able to facilitate the INFO BASICS workshop and train novice debriefers to facilitate debriefings in your department.
On-site or online training
We offer several different options for initiating and maintaining clinical event debriefing. Choose the best option to meet your needs. Currently we are offering online courses. In the future we can travel to your facility to train your staff in situ or you could travel to Calgary to take part in a course.
Train as the whole team or on your own
Take the first step on your own or bring the whole team. Either way, we can help you make INFO debriefing successful. We offer both Train the Trainer and BASICS workshops for teams and individuals.

I think the biggest affect is in the communication between professions and clarifying some of the questions that participants have after a stressful situation with an ill patient.
